Just Playing the Waiting Game

Well my due date has come and gone. I had a Dr.'s Appointment on Monday. When I got there I found out that my doctor wasn't even there. She was on call during the weekend and they get Monday off when they do that. I was wondering why they scheduled me an appointment when they knew she wouldn't be there. I wasn't too happy about that since it was my due date. I have been 80% effaced and a 1/2 cm for a few weeks now. The only thing that had changed since my last appointment was I lost 3 lbs. The nurse said that happens to some girls when they are close to delivering.

Since Monday the days have been getting harder and harder. I am super anxious to finally meet our little girl. I have been trying to keep myself busy. I have cleaned a lot and don't remember the last time our house was this clean and it still could use some work. We went for a walk at the Temple Quarry, to my friend's wedding reception, saw Snow White and the Huntsman, and some other stuff. It hasn't distracted me enough. This waiting game is hard. I have been hiding out at home because I was getting tired of people asking me when the baby is coming. It has really shocked me how many people that you don't know will just start talking to you like you know them.

I'm ready for Avery to come!

Ben got a phone call on Tuesday from a member of our bishopric. They asked him to speak at a branch in our stake on Sunday. I hope it's not bad of me to say I hope he won't be able to do it. I want Avery to come!

Well our Nursery is pretty much put together. I found a cute lamp shade on pinterest and decided to do it for the nursery. So on Saturday I covered a cheap lamp shade that I found. I love it. I still want to find some cheap frames to spray paint and letters to put on the wall above her crib. So maybe that will be my next project if she doesn't come soon. Here are some pictures:

Well since I haven't blogged lately I have lots of pictures. Ben already posted about the wonderful shower his mom gave us. My mom and the ward I grew up in also gave me wonderful showers. I'm very grateful for the wonderful people in our lives. Avery got lots of great things. Here are some pictures from the ward shower and also of some of the cute things we got:

 One of my clients gave this to me. She is a sweet lady. Her parents live up at Alta for the winter. Her mom comes in every week to get her hair done and she would get manicures when she would bring her mom in.

Can't wait for her to come. We scheduled for me to be induced on Tuesday night, but I sure hope she comes before then!!!!

Nursery (Cuarto para la nina)

We have been working on the nursery this past weekend. We painted the nursery walls as well as painted the handles on this dresser we are going to use. It came out pretty good and we are almost done putting the finishing touches on everything. The baby was being really active in Brits tummy last night and we are both really excited and I think Brit is definitely ready for her to come too :) . One more week and counting. Can't wait to have her in our lives and hold her.

Brit at 8 months

Here is a photo of Brit at 8 months and counting. Everything is going just fine and we have had a few baby showers over the last few weeks. HUGE thanks to all of the family and friends that attended and have helped us out! We have some great people around us and are very blessed for that. Brit is doing a great job and she looks better than ever. Love you.

It's Raining, part I

This past weekend was a busy one no doubt. My brother and his family came into town for an unfortunate funeral of Rachel's grandpa. He battled stomach cancer and unfortunately lost the battle this past week. Friday night we had a BBQ at our house to celebrate my Step-dads B-day. Saturday Brit was gone most of the day at her cousins wedding shower, so I took advantage and rode my motocross bike in the morning then drove up to Snowbird to do some snowboarding (thanks Boo for letting me go) during their last weekend open of the year. Saturday night we celebrated my Nephews (Parker) birthday party at a park in Kaysville. Sunday we went to my parents and had a mothers day dinner as well as had a family baby shower. My mom did a great job with it all and I'm sure it was a lot of work. She is a great mother and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks to all of mine and Brits family for everything they do for us!

Brit was a princess for a few hours, but she is a princess all the time in my eyes :) (Brownie points sweetie?)

Easter

Easter
We had a great Easter and I am sure everyone in Utah can attest that the weather was awesome for Easter Sunday.
Saturday we went to the Grossens for the annual Breakfast and Easter Egg hunt. Breakfast was great as usual (Brits mom is a great cook) and then we did our hunt. Brit was funny to watch run around holding onto her big belly with one hand and trying to pick up eggs with the other. She did a great job and found some good eggs.
Saturday afternoon we went up to Snowbird and relaxed/snowboarded a bit. Later in the day my nephew Cole come up to Snowboard. He has a pretty good time and is catching on pretty quick. I will post a video of him going off a jump. He's funny, that all he wants to do.
Sunday we went to my parents in Layton and had a great dinner with Ham, Orange rolls and Brits Coconut Cake, and Easter Egg hunt as well. My grandparents from Morgan, my Great Aunt Jan and Great Aunt Ruth (93) were able to come as well so that was great so see them.

She's such a hottie and I love her (both) so much.
