Got a few half-bangers the past few weeks at Brighton so decided I would show them. I love that resort. My crew and I got just about every spot on lock down there. (Don't worry ma, everything is in-bounds)

December fun. & Feliz Cumpleanos

Holy Cow a lot has happened in the last few weeks. I think December is my most fav. month mainly because you get to see family more often, the snow really starts to fly and we can't forget Christmas! As always here are the Haps from the past few weeks put to photos. Pictures always seem to tell a better story than I can.

BIRTHDAY

My mom had a get together for my B-day. It was fun having the family there.

We had a bunch of friends over to the house on Sunday night, it was fun having everyone there. The Skeen's hooked me up with some sweet new tie downs to keep my KXF nice and safe.

A few of my buddies and roommates got me some sweet Moto stuff. Socks, Grips, Grip Glue, and Chain Wax. I also was able to get some sweet running shoes from Reeder, and a nice shovel for when I am snowmobiling.

My twin Bro Andy was able to come into town for the holidays. We made it up to Brighton the day after Christmas for some shredding, We picked a great day as it was mostly clear and tons of pow for us to slash.

I recently bought a Snowmobile. My roommate gave me a good deal on it so i decided to go ahead and grab it. I took it out for the first time on sat with Reeder and Jared. We went to Strawberry. It was pretty fun. The snow was really deep and I kinda got the hang of it. I am looking forward to using it a bunch this winter.

2003 Polaris RMK 600 but bored to a 700. It has some other bells and whistles but I am not sure what they are. It was fun to ride though!

This was a cool photo I took of the Sunrise in the morning on the way up 94th S. We left the house around 7:30 to head to Strawberry.

The temp. was a whopping negative seven degrees when we got up there. It was a little cold while riding but we bundled up pretty good so it wasn't too bad.

We all got together Sunday night for one last shin dig with Andy, Rachy and the boys before Andy flies back to Portland. It was fun, we all had dinner at my moms, went sledding, and ate scones and drank Hot chocolate.

I built a separate "twack" as Cole would say for the older kids. There was a little jump half way down that they were catching some air on.

And last but not least, For about a month and a half before Christmas I would Brit and ask what she was doing and half of the time she would reply "oh just working on your quilt" so I knew she had spent a lot of time on it and she didn't disappoint. She made one sweet quilt. I couldn't have asked for a cooler one! Soft on the under side and a bunch of bright colors and Logo's of Brands that I like; Burton, Oakley, Neff, Forum, dvs, etc. Thanks Brit! You did a great job.

Running and Turkey, a great mix!

I had a great time this past Thanksgiving weekend. Thursday morning my roommate Reeder and I got up early and went to the Draper factory outlet stores for the annual Human Run/Walk 5K. Reeder set a blistering pace as I thought I was in for a tough 25 mins or so. But I kept up OK (even in Reeders bunky lawn mowing shoes) and we finished it out in just over 20 mins. It was fun and would again in a heart beat. Clink HERE for a link to the web site to see our results. He and I finished 50th and 51st respectively overall. And I think 7th in my age group. Ain't bad for 1700 entrants.

After that I home briefly and headed out to the local Middle School for some Canyon Springs Singles Ward Turkey Bowl Football. But to no avail a whopping 4 people from our ward showed up, and one was a sister! I was kinda bummed that just of few of us showed up from the Ward but we did end up playing with a few others guys. It was fun and good to throw the pig skin around gain.

Later in the day I went up to the Parents in Layton for a little Turkey, as usual. It was good to be with family and eat all the great traditional foods you have during Thanksgiving. We each shared some thoughts about each person around the table and why we were thankful for them, that was nice. Amy and I then went to Aunts house in Ogden. I always enjoy going there as we don't really see my dads side of the family that often.

UNTIL NEXT TIME....

Motocross Banquet and such....

This past weekend RMR held their annual Motocross Banquet for all the individuals that raced at least 5 times during their summer motocross series. Brit and I went and it was a pretty good to be had. Although it did take quite a while to go through all of the classes that raced from little kids, 4-wheelers and big bikes. They recognized places 5th-1st in all the classes. The riders thanked their sponsors, mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, and even the lord and savior Jesus Christ. So needless to say we were there for a while..... I got my overall 2nd place Trophey, gave a smile and exited the stage. It was cool to get the trophey and be recognized. Although that 1st place overall trophey was looking mighty shiney... Maybe next year. Thanks to all that came and supported me for my races. there were times were I had the biggest cheering section.So thanks!

Last wednesday was opening day at Brighton ski resort. Travee and I try and make it a yearly ritual to go every opening day. (other yearly rituals include: Eating at Silver Fork one morning for Breakfast, taking a grill and BBQing Hot Dogs in the parking lot for lunch, and wearing goofy outfits one day of riding) We worked half day and went to the Mtn. around noon. As you can see from the photo it was pretty good, and really pretty good coverage for opening day.

October

About 2 weeks ago it snowed for the first time here in the Valley. My roomate, Reeder and I drove up the canyon one sunday morning to meander around in the first Freshies of the year. It was cool to be in the snow again and feel that chill in the air. Although it had since warmed up considerably and the snow has gone the way of the Do Do Bird. There isn't anything in the Forecast as far as Snow goes in the next week to 10 days. Although it did get me excited for the upcoming snow season.

I guess it is some sort of yeary ritual for Reeder to do a Snow Angel every time he hits the snow for the first time. Here is Reeder keeping true to his word, even in his sunday best. He ain't Skeered

As usual we hit up the Motocross track on Sat. Morning. I wasn't sure I was going to make it as I wanted to go to the BYU VS. UNLV game. (BYU Won) But alas the game didn't work out and I went to the track. I am giving my bike a little TLC right now so it wasn't ready for me to ride. I just went along and snapped a bunch of photos of everyone, here are a few of my Favs.

Sunday night we got together at Moms house in Layton. My mom always knows how to get the family together. I love going there and spending time with the family. We had a Pumpkin carving contest. Here are the entires. Although I think the judging was a little off.... Kylee won.

I went to the Burton Snowboard Premire at the Gateway. It was fun to see the new video they have coming out this season and hang with the Pros. Here I am at the afterparty playing some Air Hockey with a future Olympic Medal Winner Danny Davis. Rememeber that name for Torino 2010.

Last night we were able to carve up some Pumpkins in celebration of Halloween. We did it at my place after my soccer and had a pretty good time.

For some reason my buddy Travee and I always make this pose whenever taking pictures. So this one is for you Travee.

Lake Powell October 08

In case you have been living under a rock here in Utah you are probably already aware of Real Salt Lake and their new Stadium in Sandy. Brit and I had the chance to go to the inagural Game. Our seats were pretty good and the stadium is awesome. It probably looks even better durinf the day with the Mtns in the background. As you can see from the pic it was a pretty chilly night. Unfortunatley RSL tied 1-1, but hey it's not a loss right! We had a good time and ended up sitting next to a cool couple that we chatted it up with and got to know.






A Bunch of friends (about 17 and mostly from my singles ward) and I were able to take a nice October trip down to Lake Powell. I had only been there 2 times before so i was really excited to go down there and enjoy the vacation. The two previous times I went was in the dead of summer so I was a little sceptical as to what the weather was going to be. But alas the weather was awesome. 80 and sunny every day we were there. Even though I am not super into Wake Boarding I had a great time. Although I was wishing we had brought the Air Chair. Here are some photos of the vacation.

Aunt Naomi & Familia

My Aunt Naomi passed away about a week ago. She lived in East Carbon just outside of Price. She married my Dad's brother George. We would go see her at her house from time to time when I was young but more recently we didn't get out there as soon as we would have liked to. I do remember spending time at her house with my cousins and her being a great cook. She was a great person and one of the few members of the Church on the Trujillo side of the family. My Uncle Steven told me she was very proud that I had served a mission which made me feel good.

Jen, my parents, Amy and my Dad went the funeral sevices on Friday. My Dad grew up in East Carbon and I have been there a handfull of times although for some reason we have never been to the resting place of My grandmother ( My dads Mother) in East Carbon. We went and paid our respects to her as well as Henry, my brothers brother that passed away at the age of 11. I never had the chance to meet either of my grandparents on the dads side of the family as they both had passed away before I was born. But I do truly believe that I will see them again one day after this life. I so look forward to talking to them and can imagine if either of them are anything like my Dad they were and are great people. That will be an awesome day! My Dad drove us around little East Carbon and showed where he used to hang out as a youth. I could tell he enjoyed teaching us about where he grew up.

My Cousin Kristi, Aunt Bonnie, Aunt Erma and Madeline drove from Ogden for the services as well. I enjoy seeing them when we go to Ogden. They are very supportive. I will always remember the fact that they came to the Airport to see me off on my mission.
